Ultra Vague Recordings presents:
The second release from Ru Trip Community - "Imprints"! It includes both well-known crews that have already won their audience as well as very talented beginners. This compilation is quite different from its predecessor. First of all it’s double! Its first part contains 16 choicest tracks. These are 16 songs proving that Russian trip-hop not only has the right to exist but is bound to. The second part of the album is compiled of... remixes. Remixes of the same tracks made by the very same participants. But no one got to choose the songs he wanted to work with. Everything happened in a promiscuous manner. Absolutely random picking gave all songs a new life. They gained an entirely different sound carrying the imprints of alternative musical vision. To make the compilation even more extraordinary for maximum impression there is an individual booklet made for each track presenting the designer’s vision of it. Therefore each song demonstrates two viewpoints on itself (the remix and the booklet) which illustrates the omnitude of Russian trip-hop.

Fat Jon the Ample Soul Physician (born Jon Marshall) is an American hip hop producer from Cincinnati, Ohio and one of the four members of Five Deez, alongside Pase Rock, Sonic, and Kyle David. He is also credited with some of the music in the anime series Samurai Champloo.

Pour les quelques “early believers” qui nous suivent depuis quelques années, et ceux qui connaissaient le personnage par ailleurs, l’album instrumental de Fred Yaddaden (anciennement Defré Baccara) est un serpent de mer : déjà annoncé dans le livret de Bootleg 3 en début 2006, aux cotés du Jeu du pendu et de la tape de Skeezo, le projet semblait presqu’avoir disparu depuis un an ou deux. La raison ? C’est bien simple, quelques opportunités se sont offertes à lui de le sortir dans de meilleures conditions, avec tout notre soutien bien entendu ! Malheureusement, comme souvent (Soklak a vu son premier LP retardé d’une grosse année pour les même raisons), rien n’a abouti. C’est donc avec un mélange de regret (pour le retard pris) et d’enthousiasme (de finalement le voir aboutir) que nous récupérons ce beau disque à notre catalogue, entièrement produit par Fred Yaddaden, mixé et masterisé par Kreestyle et designé par Nemo (qui réalise une fois de plus un digipack splendide !).

En attendant la sortie de cette petite perle, sorte de bande son en apesanteur d’un film imaginaire (ou qui reste à créer), Fred concocte dans son fief Lyonnais quelques petits amuse-gueule, dans l’esprit de ce remix, dernière trace musicale qu’il ait laissé (sur le maxi de Wax Tailor “There is danger / We be”)
