Clinton Fearon est un chanteur et musicien jamaïcain  de reggae, né le 13 février 1951 à Saint Andrews. Etabli à Seattle (USA) depuis 1987.

Clinton Fearon est né près de Kingston mais grandit à la campagne dans la province de Ste Catherine.

Il découvre la musique dans l’église adventiste de ce parish en Jamaïque. Il sera sur les banc de l'ecole aux cotes de Joseph Hill (Culture). A 16 ans il quitte les montagnes de Sainte Catherine et s'installe a Kingston et crée le groupe The Brothers. Le groupe tente quelques auditions notamment chez Treasure Isle, sans succès. Mais c'est à travers ce groupe que Clinton Fearon rencontre Errol Grandison, qui lui proposera d'être le troisième Gladiator, en 1969, pour remplacer David Webber. Il entre d'abord dans le groupe comme guitariste. Après le départ d'Errol Grandison, il devient le bassiste et un des choristes du groupe (occasionnellement chanteur, par exemple sur Chatty Chatty Mouth, Richman Poorman, Get Ready, Let Jah Be Praised, "Can You Imagine How I Feel", "On The Other Side", etc.) du groupe The Gladiators de 1969 à 1987. Clinton Fearon est sans conteste l'un des piliers du groupe aux cotes de Albert Griffiths. Durant ces 18 années, il travaille aussi en tant que session-man au Studio One de Coxsone, au Black Ark Studio de Lee Perry ou encore pour Joe Gibbs, Yabby You, Joseph Hookim et Prince Tony Robinson.


Estimant n'avoir pas assez d'espace au sein du groupe, il quitte subitement le groupe et s'établit aux États-Unis, à Seattle, suite à la tournée américaine des Gladiators de 1987, et compte lancer sa carrière solo. Albert Griffiths aura du mal à comprendre ce geste. Clinton crée, à Seattle, The Defenders avec quelques uns des musiciens des Gladiators. Le groupe connaîtra un succès d’estime avec le maxi Rock Your Bones en 1989. Le groupe cesse son activité en 1992.

Puis, en 1994 voit le jour le premier album de Clinton Fearon & The Boogie Brown Band (Lamar Lofton a la basse, Girt Bolo a la batterie, John Saba a la guitare et Barbara Kennedy aux claviers) : Disturb The Devil marque véritablement le début de la carrière solo de Clinton Fearon. Il crée le label Boogie Brown Productions. Suivront les albums Mystic Whisper, What A System un double album avec la partie dub mixée par Scientist, et une compilation de ces trois albums en 2002 Soon Come. Deux ans plus tard Give And Take prouve que l'inspiration de Clinton Fearon n'est pas prête de s'arrêter.

Autre chapitre de sa discographie, Mi An' Mi Guitar (2005) offre l'album acoustique que tout le monde attendait. Clinton y reprend certaines des chansons qu'il a composées à l'époque Gladiators, comme Richman Poorman et Streets of Freedom, et d'autres inédites.

Clinton Fearon publie un nouvel opus en 2006, Visions, qui comporte, comme dans ses précédents albums, de longues et mélodiques chansons qu'il part jouer sur scène aux Etats-Unis, au Brésil et dans toute l'Europe.

Deux ans plus tard Clinton Fearon decide de reprendre la basse et publie "Faculty of Dub".

     A total of 12 musicians and a sound engineer. Since summer 2007 they have been presenting their first album “SEEDS”, an lp full of pure Jamaican style music.

     This albums contains 14 songs in which political and social denounce is very present. It also contains colaborations with numerous Spanish artists, in which the international artist MACACO has also featured. Since the very beginnings they have played in the most important live clubs in Madrid and several media, succeeding, with other reggae bands, in making popularization of Reggae music possible in Spain.

     They have played with international Reggae artists such as: Alpha Blondy, Max Romeo, Steel Pulse, Ken Boothe, Kymani Marley, Queen Ifrica, The Heptones, Jimy Cliff, Don Carlos, Sugar Minnot, Micheal Rose… From the very first note, Emeterians achieve an authentic Jamaican sound inspired in classical rythms such as ska, rocksteady, steppers, and principally roots reggae, without losing creative naturality and freedom of a XXI Century music band.

     Their groove is compact and organic, based on Jamaican..s musical roots and Reggae tradition. They achieve a classical sound at the same time they achieve freshness and naturality with warm modern inspiration vocal harmonies. EMETERIANS are conscious about the importance of live performance, and their energy to keep composing comes directly from it. Their show is fresh and the communication between the band members is absolute.

     A powerful performance, splashed with joy and communication with the public through a professional show which alternates moments of recreational interaction with the public and moments of great concentration and emotional intensity in which they armonize acapella, create fantastic solos or down tempo drum n bass which will make you travel… They make the spectator feel absolutely caressed and trapped by unique warmful harmonies and solid-tangible positive energy. EMETERIANS is now working on the second album and performing all over Europe.

Dillinger, de son vrai nom Lester Bullock, est un toaster jamaïcain  né le 25 juin 1953 à Kingston.

En 1971, il commence sa carrière comme DJ dans des sound systems (en particulier celui de Dennis Alcapone). Il est d'abord influencé par U-Roy ou Big Youth avant de trouver son propre style.

Son nom vient du célèbre gangster américain John Dillinger. Il se faisait appeler Alcapone Junior en hommage à son modèle Dennis Alcapone et c'est le célèbre producteur Lee 'Scratch' Perry qui l'a rebaptisé du nom d'un autre célèbre gangster. C’est Yabby You qui remarque le premier Dillinger et lui fait enregistrer en 1974 son premier single Freshly.

L’année suivante Augustus Pablo le fait enregistrer sur Brace a Boy et Sir Coxsone produit Killer Man Jaro. C’est d’ailleurs le patron de Studio One qui produit son premier album Ready Natty Dreadie, en 1975, sur lequel il toaste sur une sélection de rythmes rocksteady et reggae.

En 1976, son deuxième album CB 200, produit par Jo Jo Hoo Kim, contient plusieurs singles dont le fameux Cocaine In My Brain. Ce titre rencontre un gros succès en Europe. Dillinger enregistrera, en 1979, la suite du morceau intitulée Marijuana In My Brain, qui sera numéro 1 en Hollande si bien qu'un album du même nom sort ensuite.

Dillinger travaille ensuite avec Bunny Lee qui produit les deux albums Talkin Blues, en 1977, et Top Ranking, en 1977. La même année il enregistre en Angleterre l’album Clash qu’il partage avec Trinity. Il fait en 1979 un duo avec Johnny Clarke, un autre sur le titre Lamb’s Bread avec Sugar Minott et un autre avec Delroy Wilson.

En 1980, il tente un des premiers enregistrements de reggae électro avec Badder Than Them. En 1983, il auto-produit Join the Queue. La même année on peut écouter Funky Punk avec LSD In My Brain. Suivent en 1984 : Blackboard Jungle, King Pharaoh et Tribal War. Après quelques années d’absence, il travaille à nouveau avec Bunny Lee dans les années 1990 sur Say No To Drugs. Dernièrement, les fans de Dillinger ont pu apprécier un best-of sous forme du double CD Rebel With a Cause
